We had the same problem and found it was because our regular wireless network had the same subnet address as the one for the ad hoc network to the PI, i.e., 192.168.1.xx. When we disabled the wireless network it worked. I thought I would mention it just in case that is also your problem.

We do have a static IP set; 192.168.1.2 is the address we set and see in ipconfig. The subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0 and there doesn't seem to be any interference with the wifi we are using.

Hey,
We had a problem streaming our video. It says could not access the specified channel or host key.
We checked out rtmp key but still it shows the same error.
I'm unable to attach a screenshot here. says that the forum is down.

We are using OBS. The rtmp key off the spreadsheet worked and OBS indicates that we are streaming. As to what we are viewing it at i'm not exactly sure what your asking. I'm using the url provided for Kentucky which is rtmp://rtmp.stream.live:1935/live/50cff62a-dbf9-4334-afa6-0e0ac9d8a00e. When I try to use this link to confirm that our video is streaming it does not work. Agreed. I am seeing the same thing. You are trying to view your video on the Stream.live site and then rtmp link is not a valid way to view it. It should be an http link, not an rtmp link. With the current information given, I don't believe you can see the video on the stream site. This is probably just a mis-copy.

What is OBS capturing, did you set up a window capture of VLC.exe? The instructions to do this are outlined in the instructional video.
We did set it up to capture VLC.exe.
Do you have VLC open, is it looking at the network stream rtsp://192.168.1.3:8554/
We are using rtsp://192.168.1.3:0808/.
Can you see the video in vlc when you type in that network connection.
I tried using rtsp://192.168.1.3:8554/ and VLC would not show the stream from the payload. We see the stream when we use rtsp://192.168.1.3:0808/.
In OBS do you have a window capture with the target vlc.exe
We do have a window capture. We can see the stream coming in from the payload.
When you go into setting for OBS is you stream settings to media.strean.live/live and your rtmp key in the key section?
When we go to the settings in OBS we are streaming to media.stream.live/live and our rtmp key is in the key section.
These would be the general overview of what you should have done for trying to stream using VLC and OBS.
We followed all of the steps as they were given in the video.
In short everything works except the url that should bring up the live stream on the internet.

deniseund : like Collin White said right before you, are you on a network for your wifi that is setting your ip to 192.168.1.xx? ukyeclipse : As for the Uni of Kentucky you actual stream location will be stream.live/-/embed/brand/7d82c723-b9dd-4827-9a31-1b6752d544dd/player/6939607d-4288-457e-ad79-fd684580a885If you scroll to the right farther to the column O you will see the address to see your stream. At 9:15AM MT I currently see Kentucky's stream running. With the laptop sitting on a cart that is about chest height for the student looking at it. rochen : would you be able to get a screenshot up now. I was not aware of any downtime for the website but I think I can check the logs to determine if they were down or not. As Doug said it should be a http url, not a rtmp url. I feel that there might have been a miscommunication on where to look at your stream. Look at column O (as is Omega) for your coresponding url.

Skylar, There is no column O on the excel spreadsheet that I have. It ends at I.

Also, what else is installed on your laptop to get the rtp_mpegts running. Whenever I try it with ffmpeg I get a failed to convert error. I am using the latest ffmpeg for windows version.

rochen For the OBS key, try putting in everything after the ....1935/live/ part in the URL. Just the part with a bunch of numbers and letters and see if that works. That's what we did and got it streaming. ...Though, viewing the stream online with the rtmp://rtmp.stream.live URL is a different story.

DougGranger LSU: I am just running ffmpeg version 3.3.1 (64bit), in that build that should be correct ffmpeg -i rtsp://192.168.1.3:8554/ -c copy -f rtp_mpegts rtp://localhost:4000 -c copy -f flv - | ffmpeg -f flv -i - -c copy -f flv rtmp://media.stream.live:1935/live/[RTMPKEYHERE] Is that similar to what you are using?

I am getting the same thing with the stream provided key. When I use one of my other stream keys, everything seems to work fine.
