we're having trouble calibrating the accelerometer on the IMU. It gets stuck on a value of zero and does not seem to change. Occasionally, it will have a value of 3 at startup, but I don't believe it, as the groundstation points incorrectly.
I have tried clearing the ROM on the Arduino. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to diagnose this problem?

We got it working through continued resetting, but it still seems pretty inconsistent

We're also having issues with Accel calibration. Is there a video we can watch or something with how to calibrate the IMU? Or does anyone have any instructions on how to do it? We get it sometimes, but not in a very consistent way...

The accelerometer is by far the most difficult to get calibrated. It usually takes us a couple minutes to get it. The technique is to orient it so that either an edge or a face of the IMU is facing downward, and to do this for each face/edge repeatedly. Keep it in the same orientation for a few seconds, then switch to a new face/edge. They say image you're putting the IMU on the six sides of a cube.
The amount of time it takes to calibrate is not very consistent, but usually not more than 2-3 minutes.

So there is actually a slightly better way to calibrate the accelerometer. Rotate it in 45 degree increments around a single axis. It's explained more here in this video...
