I am preparing to update the firmware on my Ubiquity M5 modems, but I do not know how to connect them to the computer. Am I supposed to use an ethernet cable? Am I to use the ethernet cable that is going to the raspberry pi? If so, how am I supposed to power the modem? Also, which IP address am I to use? I found 3 different ones from different online resources.
This seems like vital information that is not available on the videos before starting the process.

I was trying to update the payload modem first and was getting nowhere.
I hooked up the base station and was able to connect via the LAN to laptop connection and used the 192.168.1.20 address. I updated the ground modem to WX.v6.0.6 and it completed the firmware and then appeared to disconnect. I was able to log back in after a couple of minutes at it seems to have made the update.

To update the payload modem, I unplugged the Ubiquity to POE ethernet cable from my ground station and instead plugged in the ethernet cable from my payload Ubiquity modem that normally plugs into the pi.
The 192.168.1.20 address was not working for this, but 192.168.1.22 did.
In both cases, it told me that when I signed on, the site wasn't secure so I had to do the advanced settings and click the (unsafe) connection option.
Also in both cases, it looked like it finished the firmware update and immediately disconnected saying "This site can't be reached 192.168.1.20 (or 192.168.1.22) took too long to respond. However, in both cases, when I logged back on to airOS using "ubnt" for the User Name and "ubnt" for the password, it said it was updated to the WX.v6.0.6 version.

After updating the settings (after updating the firmware) on both Ubiquity modems, it changed the address for the ground station to 192.168.1.31 and the payload modem to 192.168.1.30. You need to log into each of these to change the name for your SSID.
