EAR 18 mentions setting the Iridium Modem to a continuous setting via an email SBD packet. Anyone have details on how to do this? I don't see it online.

i was looking for the same. I ended up using the NAL configuration tool to make an SBD attachment file for that. Basically follow the procedures to make the cutdown or idle command (from last July's slides) but look for the "time between reports" function instead of the pin state. Set that to 0 seconds and email that attachment. We were getting 8 to 15 seconds between reports after that.

Did you select 2602-LP > 1.0.0 - 1.2.0 or > 1.3.0 - 1.4.4 on the NAL Remote Configure?

This might be paranoid, but is there any increased risk of slowdowns on the server if teams are changing their reporting frequencies to continuous?

I updated mine this morning and it went from a packet every thirty seconds or more to every 7-9 seconds.

@ irowe - we do not expect there to be any slowdown, the server is plenty robust and the database should update with no problems
@ Kendra - that sounds about right, continuous for us is ~7-14 seconds.

If there's already an .sbd file that we can download, will emailing that change the iridium to continuous? Or do we have to create a new .sbd file through the NAL Remote Config?

The .sbd files are in the July workshop documentation and can be made from the NAL software, there is instructions for this in the documentation as well. I have emailed the continuous update file to Shane to forward to teams who were not at the workshop, you could ask Shane to forward you the same email.
