The azimuth servo on our tracking station is misbehaving. If you use the Maestro software to issue a command to move the servo it will just make very small jumps in whatever direction you tell it to go to until it goes to where it was commanded. If you command both servos to move simultaneously they'll both make these small jumps. If you disconnect the azimuth servo the altitude servo will work just fine. We've tried all six ports of the Micro Maestro with the same results. Has anyone seen this sort of behavior in a servo?

Thats strange behavior indeed... I would suspect the power limits of the supply are being exceeded causing it to reset and repeat. This might be the sign of a failing servo. Can you see how much current the Azimuth servo is trying to pull?

It looks like it's pulling around an amp or so but it maybe that it's happening so fast that the VOM can't see it? The power supply will source 2 amps. We purchased a new servo but the feed back pot is located inside the servo motor body, I take it that we will have to remove the internal feedback pot and solder the external one onto the servo? Does anyone know if we need an normal, extra rotation or continuous rotation servo and what direction?
