So we want to record the flight, but we control that manually. I'm concerned that I may need to shut off recording at the end of our stream. Our batteries keep dying by the time we recover, so I'm worried about data corruption. The August code automatically saves 10m chunks if I remember correct. Could power loss corrupt the whole card rather than just the video file?

Losing power does raise chances of image corruption. The only real solutions are to add a shutdown program or implement a battery sensor that reads the state of the battery. We use the latter but we've noticed inconsistent voltage levels at which the pi looses power. So long as you're still recording in 10min segments, chances are you'll be able to recover just fine. We never shut down the still image payload before disconnecting power and our sd image is still heathy. The OS has been able to fix any errors that pop up.

The trick with the rfd is to do it when its not taking a picture. but the video should be constantly recording no?
