We are having a problem concerning one of our video payloads. When we power on the video payload the power light on the M5 modem comes on and after a few seconds so does the light that indicates it is connected to another modem. Problem is that the other modem is not on for it to connect to, so it shouldn't be connecting. This seems to be our problem as we have tested it against a working video payload that we have.
Any ideas on what could be happening? We have had this same payload working on several occasions before this began to happen.

So that other light doesn't mean it is connected to another modem it is just saying that it is talking to the computer it is connected to. In this case the video payload modem is talking to the Raspberry Pi that it is connected to. This is because to have a connection from PI to Modem it has to send a few protocols back and forth.
If the lights that are on the right side of the modem are on that means that it has connection to another modem. These will be colors from red to orange to green as it goes across to the end.
On the ground station when you connect the ethernet cable to your laptop the same light will blink on and off. This is the same thing, the computer is just talking to the modem.
