On the third slide of the ad-hoc setup power point it says "Your network name will include your teams
registration number, write down/remember this
name for upcoming step"
I don't have a new network popping up when i power the payload, and when i used the ID from the workshop (002MBUB) the command prompt said it wasn't recognized. I was wondering if there was an alternate way to find this network name. My ultimate goal is to get the wifi dongle to connect so i can extract video from the live video sd card per the powerpoint on another thread. Thanks!

If you are trying to do this on the video payload it is not set up for adhoc and will not be broadcasting a wifi access point. You would have to copy the interfaces.rfd file into /etc/networks/interfaces. This will disable the pi from connecting to ubiquity and you would have to copy the .ubiquity file back to the /etc/network/interfaces file in order to use ubiquity again. I would try not to use adhoc if you can this is mainly used to connect to the pi in the feild when you don't have a monitor and keyboard. If you don't have a monitor and keyboard you will have to use adhoc anyways.
